| And so endeth another cruise – but at least the weather was a little better for this return up Southampton Water than the last one had been. Also the number of new ships around the place was quite gratifying – not huge, but enough to take the sting out of the “end of cruise syndrome” that is such a depressing feature of getting back home. It wasn’t possible to get any photographs before Fawley and even by then light levels were still extremely poor but, to trot out my oft repeated mantra yet again, you have to play the cards you’re dealt, so please excuse the poor quality of some of the earlier shots in this collection. For me, the highlight was having Queen Mary 2 follow us in to port and it was possible to get some shots of her “in the landscape” so to speak. |
