QV Mediterranean Medley Cruise - Civitavecchia 26 Apr 09

I would be lying if I didn’t say that Civitavecchia was a little bit disappointing. For a start the weather was dismal – the sort of thing you’d expect around Goole, grey sky, drizzly rain increasing to heavy rain at times, and no hotter than UK for the time of year. However the real disappointment was the lack of ships. There was some reasonable quality but the numbers were very low. I had also expected a much larger port. For the major port for the capital of Italy it seemed remarkably cramped. Still, from what I can tell I didn’t, on this occsion at least, miss very much in the way of shipping by going on the inevitable shore excursion. So here is what there was. Once again, the ships occur more or less in the order in which I saw them, and photographs taken at different times of day are grouped together for the sake of continuity.
