| The first port call of the cruise was Barcelona. Given the time of year, the sun took its time putting in an appearance but, which it finally did so, the weather remained glorious for the rest of the day. I was able to get a substantial crop of ship photos on the way in to port although some of the early ones are a little grainy due to the low light levels. The shore excursion was quite short and, in the afternoon, I was able to get the shuttle bus into the city where I made the most of a few more opportunities for ship photography. The final score for the day was 49 new ships and, although I haven’t done even a rough count yet, I don’t think that even the final stop of the cruise at Gibraltar will match that figure. The ships in this collection appear more or less in the order in which they were photographed although, where I photographed one in the morning and again in the afternoon, I have put the photographs in sequence for the sake of continuity. |
