| A very early start for Stockholm as I’d been told that the scenery on the voyage through the archipelago was spectacular. As it happens the day started very misty and damp and the omens didn’t look great. However, as we got closer to the port, the weather began to clear. The scenery in the archipelago was indeed spectacular – even more so as we sailed out again in the evening. The theme of the day was definitely the large number of small ferries, mostly of similar design, operating short local routes across the fjord and probably the best new ship on this port stop was the Arleigh Burke class destroyer USS Cole making a courtesy visit to Stockholm. |
