| On the August Bank Holiday weekend, a visit to family in Basingstoke provided the opportunity to get down to the Solent for a bit of ship photography. The main attraction was the scheduled 1700hrs departure of 4 cruise ships. The afternoon was successful (if slightly lucky) We cut things rather fine and got held up a bit by roadworks on the M27 with the result that, when we arrived at Hythe Pier, Norwegian Jade had already passed the end of the pier and was on the way downriver. The weather stayed friendly but started tipping it down shortly after we got back to Basingstoke. The final score for the day was 10 new sightings. |
