| I’d been having a hard time getting anywhere after my visit to the Tees on 2 Apr. The problems were all caused by the usual suspects, no ships when the weather was good, plenty ships when the weather was terrible, other commitments when there actually were some good ships and reasonable weather. On Sun 28 Apr, I finally decided that I’d head for Goole even though there were only two new ships there (and only five in total). The weather had been absolutely dire all day with heavy, nearly continuous rain, but, round about half past four there was some sign of a clearance so I headed off. As it turned out the clearance didn’t last long and I was lucky to get finished without a soaking. On the way back I skirted rounded a massive thunderstorm going on over Selby then ran into another just as I arrived home York. Still the fresh air was good, the exercise very necessary, and it was good to catch another Sormovskiy at Howdendyke (only the second of the class that I’ve ever seen). Anway, here's a small collection just to keep things ticking over. |
