| When the promised “continuous heavy rain” failed to materialise, I decided to take a quick trip to Goole along with “She Who Must be Obeyed”. To be honest there wasn’t much around, and there was nothing interesting enough on the Trent to get my attention. There were quite a few movements booked for the afternoon tide but as high tide at Burton Stather was predicted for 1615 it was pretty obvious I wasn’t going to get any of those. On the other hand Alexander Grin was at Howdendyke and the unusual looking RMS Kiel was in Goole so I was able to get two new ships out of five. Add to that a couple of barges that I hadn’t seen before and the petrol expenditure was probably worth it. |
